The ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology.

Skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. 

The ACLS course covers:

  • ACLS algorithms
  • immediate post-cardiac-arrest care
  • airway management
  • rhythm recognition
  • high-quality CPR
  • 1-rescuer CPR AED
  • effective resuscitation team dynamics
  • science overview (update course)
  • BLS and ACLS surveys
  • ACS
  • Megacode treatment
  • identification and initial care of other life-threatening clinical situations (such as stroke).

 

Do You Need BLS? You can also get your BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification during this course by adding the AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Online  Course from the menu below. Complete Part 1 online via the Internet, print the completion certificate and bring it with you on the day of the course. Complete Part 2 & 3 "skills check" to get your official American Heart Association certification card the day of this course. BLS Online & Skills Course Cost $80.  You also can also register for the ACLS/BLS in person combo course.  

You may register for the renewal course only if your card is still valid.

 COAT DRIVE
We are now accepting brand-new, clean, or gently used winter coats or jackets and accessories (scarves, gloves, earmuffs, and hats/caps) from October 2025 to February 2026.
We would be happy to accept the contribution, provided that the coats are in good shape and can withstand the harsh winter weather. We advise donors to dry clean or launder their coats if they are unclean before making a donation. 
After being processed, the coats are given to our Community Partners, which include public schools, nonprofit organizations, places of worship, and transitional housing shelters, who assist some of the most vulnerable groups in New Jersey.
